White to Yellow

Last weekend Gabe finally tested for his yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do. He is now in the Master Training program to earn his black belt. Now, that will be a long way from now, but he is enjoying himself and having something that is uniquely his. Look at how proud he is after breaking his boards.

Gabe breaking his first board with his fist. I am so proud of his dedication and willingness to try to do his best. He is such a brave little guy!
Here he is breaking his 2nd board with his sidekick. He got it on the first kick! You go Gabe!

Something Funny

This was just too cute to not share. Graedon is into wearing odd things. This is an outfit he insisted on wearing. A pair of goggles from a play workbench set and my t-shirt over his own outfit. He wore this for over an hour. Love it!

Our 4th

Sorry I haven't posted about our 4th of July celebrations. We actually have a family tradition. We go to Chad's parents' house every year for the 4th, and this year was my 16th year of attending his family's 4th of July ! Wow! I cannot believe Chad and I have been together that long. Now, we've only been married going on 7 years now, but we have some great history! I love it. They don't have a big shindig or anything, but it is great food, and we eat all day and all night, and we let off some kid friendly fireworks, and then Chad and his brother did the night fireworks for everyone to "ooooo" and "ahhhh" over. Well, anyway, here are some pics of our day at his parents.

Yes, that is a burn hole in Gabe's shirt from him setting off a bottle rocket. I nixed that activitiy ASAP. (Gabe is very proud of his hole, and he was telling everyone how his belly was on fire.)

Graedon and I settling down the watch the night time show. He didn't stay smiling too long. The noises upset him, and we ended up inside about 2 minutes after the show started. Oh well. Here is daddy helping Graedon with some pull string confetti poppers. Even an almost 2 year old can have a good time.

Chad had dropped a smoke bomb down the well, and Graedon was drawn to the blue smoke.

I just love this kid! He is getting so big, and I love hime more everyday! What a handsome little man!

Trying to set the grass on fire with sparklers was the huge entertainment! Nothing ever came of their efforts.

Well, I hope everyone had a great day celebrating our country's independance! What an awesome place we live in!
