Making an effort

I am trying to make more of an effort to post more regularly. Gabe is currently at preschool in my hometown, which is about 20 minutes from where I live. So, while Graedon and I wait for him to be dismissed at 2:30, we go to my mom's house and chill. I am going to try to do some blog posting during the 2 hours that I am at my mom's. Now, I cannot promise anything, but I am going to make an effort.

Graedon woke up this morning, came downstairs with his little sleepy face in his diaper and sleep shirt. He crawls up on my lap, and then he shows me Gabe's DS. He looks at me and says, "I play dame." He loves the DS, especially the Mario Bros mini games. Too cute.

ear infection update

I took Gabe to the doctor on Thursday, and he too had double ear infections. My poor guys! They are both loving their pink liquid medicine and seem to be on the mend just perfectly. I am just glad that I took them both in when I thought that I should. She also checked Graedon's ears while we were there, and she said his ears looked great. I am a very relieved mommy.

Sorry I haven't been around much on the bloggy, but I have been busy throwing a surprise baby shower for a great friend, and also busy planning for the Sketchapalooza 3 sketch class from Feeling Scrappy. Make sure to check out my previous post about it! I am also having my first Uppercase Living Open House on Thursday, so I am trying to make my house nice and cozy and inviting! I am also putting on a movie night for my Kids Hope USA kids this evening at the church, so that should be a lot of fun, but I am ready for some relaxing evenings to just veg out. Well, I am hoping to be back with a picture post soon!

I'm so excited

ear infections and a new obsession

So, on Friday, I took Graedon to the doctor, and poor little guy had double ear infections. Who knows how long he has had them? He shows no signs, except for the night before. He woke up screaming and saying "ow." When I went to get him, he showed no signs of recognizing me, and I couldn't get him to calm down. He was shaking uncontrollably, and his little heart was just pounding. I went to pick him up, and he stiffened up. I thought he was having a seizure. I ran down to call our dr., and when I cam back up, Chad had him calmed down and trying to go back to sleep. My doctor reassured me that if it was a seizure that he wouldn't have been able to talk, so that makes me feel better. She does think he could be starting to have night terrors. I don't know what that future holds for us, but I guess it is just a wait and see game.

Well, I came home tonight from Zumba class, and my other guy, Gabe starts telling me that his ear hurts. He had a swimming party on Sunday, and now I am wondering if fluid got trapped in his ear, and now he is going to be making a trip to the doctor tomorrow. My poor guys. I just want them to be their happy, healthy selves.

On a lighter note, I have been introduced to what is now my newest obsession. The "Twilight" book series. Oh my goodness, why I haven't I read these sooner?!?! I just finished "Eclipse" last night, and I cannot wait to start on "Breaking Dawn!" These books are great, and I would recommend them to anyone! I even think I am heading out with a girlfriend tomorrow to see the movie! Seriously, I haven't read such good books in a long time. If you've read the books and/or seen the movie, what do you think?

A little recap

Wow, I cannot believe it has been over a week since I last posted. I've been a bad blogger. We've been really busy for some reason, and I don't really know why, but I am hoping to gain some control back over soon. :-) I thought I would just have a recap post of what we have been up to this past week.

First, we finally got snow! Almost 12 inches to be exact, and Gabe couldn't contain himself. We had to go sledding! So we bundled the boys up, drove on the not-yet plowed roads and made it to a good friend's house to get some sledding time in. It was awesome!

Seriously, can he get any cuter? I love how he will cheese it up for the camera for me.
Our friend Zack taking the boys down together. Graedon got to a point where he only wanted to go with Zack because both Chad and I wrecked on the sled with him.

Gabe loved every minute of it. He stayed out in the snow over 3 hours!! He was cold by the end of the day, but he was great. He had the occassional whiny moment, especially when he didn't want to climb up the hill. That is the worst part about sledding...the climb back up.

Gabe finished up his 2nd year of basketall at the Boys and Girls Club here in town. He is so proud of that trophy. It will go on his shelf in his room next to his one from last year. It was our niece Taylor's first year, and I think she liked it too. It really is a great program.

This picture was taken yesterday, and it just makes me smile. Here they are in their jammies with matching bed heads. Love it!
