More sketchy goodness!

You know that feeling of coming across something that inspires you and makes you want to get up and use that inspiration?  Well, that is exactly what Stacey's sketches do for me!
Here is another one of her amazing skethches, and my layout interpretation is below.

Here is my take on her sketch.  Love it, and I had a great time creating with it!

So Fitting

"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are.
As you create a home, don’t get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don’t dwell on your failures, but think about your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey." ~Marjorie P. Hinckley

I found this quote while blog surfing today, and it really hit home for me.  I hope it does with you as well.

A Sketch and a Layout

I am lucky enough to call the talented Stacey over at Stacey Scraps and Cooks a great friend!
She designs some of the best sketches as well as layouts.
She's also crafty in the kitchen and with sewing projects.
I suggest you check out her blog and be inspired or at least gain a new recipe or two!

I was honored to be asked to create a layout using the sketch below!
You should give it a try.

My take on the sketch.
It's pretty simple, so I may add a little more, but the inspiration from the sketch was a great starting point for me.
Make sure to post your layout either here or on Stacey's blog if you use the sketch.

A Diaper Cake for Morgan

I have a baby niece due at the end of March, and her baby shower was this past Saturday.  I am pretty sure her name is going to be Morgan, but I think Reaghan is in the running as well.  I am partial to Morgan.
My mom and I decided to make her a diaper cake, and we had a blast doing so.
I like to think that I am pretty crafty, and my mom now thinks we need to start a diaper cake business.
It was so much fun to make, and it is even more special when it is for someone you love!
It was a hit at the shower.
If you feel intimidated to make one, don't be!
It is super easy and very fun.

Scrappy Retreat

I just returned from an amazing scrapbook weekend retreat.
I go every year, and every year it gets better!
What can be better than great friends, awesome food, and a fantabulous weekend of scrappy goodness?!?!
I cannot wait to return next year, but my friends and I have decided that we need to go back earlier.
One weekend a year just isn't enough.

I completed 26 layouts!
I was hoping to get to 30 before I packed up to come home, but I had a few shops I needed to visit beforehand.  Oh, did I mention there are some awesome shops to visit?  :-)
I will post some layouts once I get photos taken of them.

March Madness...in February!

First, let me apologize for the small scale of photos.
These were taken with the hubby's cell phone.  I couldn't make the game, and he refused to take the camera.
I do not forgive him for that just yet.

Gabe participated in an Upward Basketball program at a local church this season.
If you have an Upward program in your area, do not walk, but run to sign your son or daughter up asap!
It is a wonderful Christian-based program that teaches the fundamentals as well as Bible verses and Jesus' love!  It is an amazing program to identify Christ in all aspects of your life, sports included.

His last game was on Saturday, and they ended the day with the cutting down of the net.
He brought his piece home and immediately showed me.
He is so proud, and I am proud of him!
