ear infections and a new obsession

So, on Friday, I took Graedon to the doctor, and poor little guy had double ear infections. Who knows how long he has had them? He shows no signs, except for the night before. He woke up screaming and saying "ow." When I went to get him, he showed no signs of recognizing me, and I couldn't get him to calm down. He was shaking uncontrollably, and his little heart was just pounding. I went to pick him up, and he stiffened up. I thought he was having a seizure. I ran down to call our dr., and when I cam back up, Chad had him calmed down and trying to go back to sleep. My doctor reassured me that if it was a seizure that he wouldn't have been able to talk, so that makes me feel better. She does think he could be starting to have night terrors. I don't know what that future holds for us, but I guess it is just a wait and see game.

Well, I came home tonight from Zumba class, and my other guy, Gabe starts telling me that his ear hurts. He had a swimming party on Sunday, and now I am wondering if fluid got trapped in his ear, and now he is going to be making a trip to the doctor tomorrow. My poor guys. I just want them to be their happy, healthy selves.

On a lighter note, I have been introduced to what is now my newest obsession. The "Twilight" book series. Oh my goodness, why I haven't I read these sooner?!?! I just finished "Eclipse" last night, and I cannot wait to start on "Breaking Dawn!" These books are great, and I would recommend them to anyone! I even think I am heading out with a girlfriend tomorrow to see the movie! Seriously, I haven't read such good books in a long time. If you've read the books and/or seen the movie, what do you think?

Poor little guy! I am very familiar with the night terror. My mom said I had them when I was 2and Aidan also had them although his occurred during the day. I knew he was going to have one if he started crying an hour after he went down for a nap. I could time it to the minute. Weird huh? He would cry and scream and hit and look at me with absolutely no recognition. Sometimes it took an hour to calm him down. It was really upsetting and scary for Mommy. Sometimes he would crawl and run with a look of terror on his face as if something was trying to get him. Other times he'd ball up in a corner and just scream. Then he'd just snap out of it like nothing had happened and say, "Hi, Mommy!" I did a lot of research and everything I found said to just let them cry, scream, whatever but try to keep them safe. It's a very hard thing to go through, but something they eventually grow out of. Hope it gets better :)
