Moving in slow motion

I don't know about you, but I have been moving in slow motion for the past week. I still don't have all of the Christmas stuff put away, I can't seem to keep up with my kitchen or laundry. Things are just crazy here, and I can't seem to get back into a normal routine. I am in slow motion getting my booty back in gear. Even keeping up with my blog hasn't been on my list of things to do. Now my throat is starting to hurt, and I hope I am not getting sick. I am ready to be healthy and just back to a normal type of setting in my household. What are your tricks to get things back in order? I would love to hear them!

Whenever I get behind on laundry, I usually wash and dry the clothes and make a huge mountain of clean laundry on my bed...because that I can do pretty fast and without taking out too much of the girls' time to play with me. But when the kids go to bed, I fold them while watching my favorite programs on TV (Will usually offers his help too). I figure...I'm going to be up anyway, so I might as well get the laundry folded while I'm just sitting and then I can feel better in the morning knowing I have one less thing. Plus, when the babies are around, they love to unfold the laundry piles I make! As for dishes, if I am really backed up..I wait for Will and then he will watch them while I do dishes..then I order out for dinner so there are no dinner dishes. Then I just try to stay up on them because it is quicker to stay up on them, than play catch up, especially when you have bottles to wash too. But I would do anything for a dishwasher! That is my goal for my next house! haha!

I ALWAYS get in a rut when we come back from Terre Haute and seems like it takes a month to get caught up. I have days where everything I do seems to be undone within minutes by Aidan! Paul and I did some major cleaning recently and that has helped. I am also getting rid of a lot of stuff. We're going to have a huge yard sale in the spring. If I can keep the laundry done and the dishes caught up I'm pretty happy. By the way Aidan LOVES Caillou, but we no longer get that PBS channel because we switched to DISH satellite. We used to get PBS South Bend and PBS Ft. Wayne. Now we get PBS Ft. Wayne with no Caillou. It is on Google video though :)

I do the same laundry pile thing here. It really helps. Also, If I enlist the kids I can make putting the stuff away a game and usually they are eager to help

Just in case you didn't say that comment I added to my last blog...we go to church at Friendly Grove Christian Church in rural Rosedale (Pastor Perry Mager) because I guess there is more than one Friendly Grove? :)
